What are implants?

If you have a missing tooth or teeth and are considering replacement options then dental implants may be the right choice for you. Dental implants can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth. Implants are made from titanium and can be used to support crowns, bridges and even dentures.

Implants are now a well-established and safe form of treatment.  It is probably true to say that implants much like natural teeth, will last for as long as you care for them.

What should I consider?

Always ensure you have a thorough assessment prior to embarking on any treatment plan, and discuss your dentist’s experience and knowledge of implant treatment.  Always ask questions as it is your mouth and your treatment.  You should feel confident in your dentist’s hands.  All of your available options should be discussed allowing you to make an informed decision on treatment. In some cases other areas of your mouth may also require attention to attain good oral health first.
